Airsoft Ghillie Suits

There are some pretty crazy things that you can do in a game of airsoft in order to improve your chances of winning.  Some people go really far to make sure that they have the power necessary to win.  For example, there is a plethora of airsoft accessories, tactical gear, and other products that you can add on to your already powerful airsoft gun so you can make it even more effective.  And since the gun itself is expensive, you can imagine that adding on all these other things can make the final price of airsoft much higher.  But for some players, this is more than worth it, for the enhanced chances of victory that these accessories bring.

Just using some basic accessories and tactical gear is not that out of the ordinary, as everybody usually has at least one thing they use to make their airsoft gun more effective.  But as I alluded to at the beginning of the article, there are more extreme measures that you can take to ensure victory for yourself.  One of these options is the use of a ghillie suit, something that is more associated with actual military combat than airsoft.  But being that airsoft is a simulation of both military and law enforcement action, it makes sense that people would do everything reasonably possible in order to make the game more representative of what happens in real military combat.

That is the first benefit of having people use ghillie suits in airsoft; it makes the game seem more real.  The ultimate goal of airsoft is to get as close to full realism as possible, but obviously you do not want to get too real or then people would start dying.  But when you can do things that increase the entertainment of the game without making it more dangerous, that is definitely a route that you should consider taking.  This is what you can gain with ghillie suits.  When you are in one, or you encounter opponents who are using them, there is just a feel to the game that is introduced which cannot be gained from any other means.  For this reason alone, you should consider introducing this concept to your team and the people you play with, as they might be interested.

But what really matters to people is the function of the products they buy.  And since ghillie suits cover you in natural greenery and make it much more difficult for opponents to see you, their tactical advantage is undeniable.  For snipers especially, you can perch down in a spot and never be seen, even when you are shooting.  It might take a little while to get used to the conditions of being inside the suit, but once you do, your performance can improve significantly.

Although ghillie suits can get pretty expensive, pricing at up to two-hundred dollars or above, there are definitely cheaper options out there.  You can get a quality suit for around eight-five bucks, and they work more or less the same as one twice the price.  Obviously something more expensive will be more comfortable and realistic looking, but you should not feel bad if all you can afford is one on the lower end of the scale.
